What is CBD?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive chemical found in the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is one of 113 naturally occurring cannabinoids found in hemp. Cannabidiol has a variety of properties related to ailments such as anxiety, inflammation, and tension.
Is CBD Legal?
The passing of the 2018 Farm Bill legalized the domestic production and sale of hemp in all fifty states. The FDA is in the process of issuing guidelines and regulations for the industry. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase hemp/CBD products.
What is the Difference Between Marijuana, and Hemp?
Hemp and marijuana both derive from plants in the Cannabis family. One of the main distinguishing factors between hemp and marijuana is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) concentration. THC is the chemical in marijuana responsible for psychoactive effects such as a 'high.' The 2018 Farm Bill classifies hemp, which is legal in the United States, as having a THC concentration of less than 0.3%. On the contrary, marijuana contains a higher concentration of THC. CBD is consumable in a variety of ways including sublingually, ingestible, topical/transdermal, and inhalation. Different products are designed for different methods of consumption.
Where does CBD Come From?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted from Cannabis sativa through a variety of methods. Most of our products use a method known as CO2 extraction. This process uses carbon dioxide to take the naturally occurring CBD directly from the hemp plant.
What is the Difference Between Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum Hemp Oil?
Full spectrum hemp oil includes all cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, including 0.3% THC. Though this is not enough to induce a psychoactive effect (also known as a 'high'), it causes what is known as the 'entourage effect'. Broad spectrum hemp oil is like full spectrum, but without any THC.
