Project CBD conducted a self-reporting survey of CBD's effects on 1521 people struggling with sleep problems. Survey participants reported a reduction in average time to fall asleep, as well as improvements in staying asleep throughout the night. Survey participants reported a reduction in time to fall asleep on average from 62 minutes to 20 minutes after use of CBD. On average, participants were waking up 4.3 times per night prior to CBD use, compared to 1.4 times per night with CBD. Almost 75% of survey participants reported feeling tired prior to using CBD. After the use of CBD, only 9% of participants reported waking up tired.
A 2019 longitudinal study over 3 months of 72 adults presenting anxiety and sleep issues. Within the first month of the study, anxiety scores decreased by 79.2% of patients, and sleep scores were improved by 66.7%.
